Meet Athina: Dóttir Yoga Instructor and Yoga Enthusiast

At Dóttir Yoga, we’re lucky to have such passionate and dedicated instructors like Athina, who brings her unique perspective and love for yoga to every class she teaches. Athina completed the Dóttir 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT), and we wanted to take a moment to share more about her journey and what inspires her teaching style.

A Little About Athina

Athina describes herself as a blend of cultures, being half Hungarian and half Croatian, and currently calling Copenhagen home. As a Yoga Teacher and Pilates Instructor, she’s constantly expanding her knowledge in the wellness and mindfulness fields. Athina loves to travel, explore new places, and learn new things. She finds joy in nourishing herself through movement and mindfulness—and, as she puts it, she’s a yoga addict!

Why the Dóttir 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training?

After practicing yoga for eight years, Athina knew that she was ready for a new challenge. She followed her intuition and decided to enroll in the Dóttir 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training. For her, this was more than just an opportunity to deepen her practice—it was a chance to seek out her purpose. Looking back, Athina says it was one of the best decisions she’s made in a long time.

Key Lessons from the Training

One of the most significant takeaways from Athina’s training was the power of mindfulness and the mind-body connection. Through regular practice and a deeper commitment to her yoga journey, Athina learned to shift her mindset in ways she never anticipated. Yoga has taught her the importance of self-care and looking inward to connect with her true self. This mindset shift has had a profound impact on her life, influencing not just her practice but her overall approach to wellness.

Advice for Future Trainees

If you’re thinking about embarking on the Dóttir 200-Hour YTT, Athina’s advice is simple: “Just do it, just go for it. It will change your mindset and your life, and it will bring you great experiences.” She encourages anyone ready to take the leap to trust the process and embrace the journey—it’s an experience that will leave you changed for the better.
